Free Stuff on Craigslists

Disclaimer: Many years ago I blogged about Craigslist in passing and got a feedback from Craig himself. :O If I dragged you here again, Craig, my apologies. This is so not worth your time. :)

So I got very bored one day and I was browsing the free stuff section on Craigslist. People give away the strangest stuff free -- couches that were chewed up by their dogs (all you need is to pick up the the fine leather couch and get it upholstered); empty baby food bottles, lots of them, must take all (for your crafting need); entire set of kitchen cabinets/counter obviously freshly pulled out from the wall. I don't remember for sure, but it might even had the sink attached! :O Simply fascinating.

Then moving onto the pet section (this time I wasn't bored, I am seriously looking for a cat). It amazes me that so many people giving away/selling animals WITHOUT posting their pictures. (Wonder if that's a Craigslist's rule.) It's very difficult to visualize a cat simply from reading the verbose descriptions. And the most fascinating of them all, someone giving away 300 peking ducks and other hybrid ducks, for pets.

So sorry (no, I am NOT going to get them), but when I hear "peking ducks," all I can think of is food, not pets...

That said, we gave away over 100 moving boxes after our move, gone in 4 hours! Not CLAIMED in 4 hours, all gone PHYSICALLY in 4 hours. Wow! The 2 boxes of empty DVD cases took longer -- 2 days. Only because the first guy flaked on us. Simple fascinating. :D
